after this weekend, i don't think that dave will ever want to watch a movie with me again... we rented Million Dollar Baby and i spent half of the movie sobbing uncontrollably into a mountain of tissues... now most girls are known to cry DURING sad movies... but this movie made me so emotional that the next morning, on our drive to do a hike, i burst into tears and sniffles thinking about it... i found yet another way to humiliate myself...
but it was a good movie and i absolutely recommend it...
in other riley-related news, summer FINALLY began in Vancouver this weekend and as luck would have it, dave and i were able to uncover a beer garden location yesterday... the first annual Clam Chowder Festival at Waterfront Park at Lonsdale Quay... Dave had read about the clam chowder and said that he wanted to stop by to have some because... well because he loves clam chowder... As we're walking through the stands i see it... like a mirage in the desert... a man sitting at a card table with a dixie cup full of a golden brown substance... i turn to dave... oh my god... it's a beer garden... we immediately get on the phone to put the word out to all other interested parties (namely dean and my sister casey)... what can i say... there is nothing i love more than a beer garden...
